Oh Guadeloupe, how you have enchanted me. Your rivers, beaches and food were enough to make me want to live there permanently. But then you showed me your art.
Dear readers, it seems I have finally found the Street Art Mecca of the Caribbean. I still have lots to discover and I was not always camera-ready to snap a photo (a real traveler faux-pas) of all the murals, graffiti and street art I saw while driving around beautiful Guadeloupe, but I am convinced that this is it.

Homage to Jazz legends in Pointe-a-Pitre
Pointe-a-Pitre is also the place where jazz legends are honored. I first read about these murals online and quickly scheduled an entire day to chase these jazz legends. Louis Armstrong was a bit of a challenge and I was quite surprised to see how deteriorated his mural has become over the years. Still, these murals are a must for all jazz and street art fans. I call the next set of photos “All that Jazz“. Enjoy!
I left Guadeloupe with still quite some places to discover and murals to chase. 4 days were just not enough on this enchanted butterfly-shaped island, but it gives me a reason to leave it permanently on my bucket list.

Wow, that is amazing! We saw such a small piece of Guadeloupe that sadly did not include seeing this beautiful street art! Looks like I have to go back!! 🙂

I feel you are ever in Miami, you should check out Wynwood. They have amazing murals there as well.
Aegisprncs, Miami is high on my mural bucket list. It’s a must and I hope to wee Wynwood very soon. Perhaps early next year.

Luciano, they are everywhere but Pointe a Pitre is definitely capital of murals. Can’t wait to see Basse Terre next time.
