Curaçao is the very equivalence of color. Whether you are familiar with this beautiful Dutch Caribbean island or not, it is most likely that you have seen a picture or two of its colorful “Handelskade” in the heart of its capital Willemstad. You know, that row of colorful buildings by the harbor. Now, what if I told you that since recently, the color has spread all over the the island, concentrating in Willemstad itself, and that this time it was by the hand of local artists?
15 things to remember when preparing for a hurricane
First of all let’s hope you never need this list, but in case you do, I hope it helps.
If you are reading this you either live in the hurricane belt, have family/friends that do or you have a morbid fascination with destructive hurricanes (if you’re the latter, please move on) Whatever your reason these are some of the things I recommend you prepare for in case you find yourself where I did in 2017 with Irma and Maria. 10 Travel Fails and how to avoid them this Summer
Imagine hiking for quite a distance just to get to a waterfall you’ve been swooning over since booking your trip. You hear the water rushing in the distance and you know you’re close. You finally get there and it is as magnificent as you thought it would be. You quickly grab your GoPro to shoot some videos and photos up close, only to realize your device is completely dead. Yes, this happened to me recently on a trip to the Dominican Republic.
Travel fails happen. They are part of the experience. From forgetting to charge my GoPro to bringing along the charger for my electric toothbrush but not the actual toothbrush, I’ve experienced it all. Funny thing is that most of it could have been avoided.
