Yes, it’s only November at the time of writing this post but with Thanksgiving being next week, closely followed by the days of pure madness, the days most humans lose their shit a.k.a. Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I decided to temporarily ditch my island ways and be proactive for a change, and post my Christmas Gift Guide early this year.

what do you give to someone who wants the world?

The items that follow are items I have had the pleasure of using myself and know their importance in the lives of solo female travelers everywhere. Whether you are traveling for pleasure , or business or trying to find yourself, there is bound to be something in this list that will tickle your fancy.

It doesn’t matter if you are a traveler yourself reading this gift guide to get an idea of what to add to your list to Santa or you are looking for something special to give to your traveling mom, sister, daughter, friend, partner or wife, I am sure you will find something on this list that will make you the gift giver of the year.

The DoorJammer

Safety comes first and this is especially the case when you are a woman (or a guy) traveling by yourself. The cardinal rules of traveling solo go in full effect: trust your instincts, don’t leave your drinks unattended, don’t take rides from strangers and get the DoorJammer.

The DoorJammer is this product I discovered recently and I totally swear by it. I can no longer travel anywhere without it. It is small, compact and light but man, can it make one feel safer. It is a portable security device for anyone needing privacy and security and it is super simple to install.

The ultimate travel dress by Kameleon Rose

I was one happy traveling island girl when I received the package containing what has become my favorite travel garment. Every woman in the world will agree with me that the biggest issue we have, whenever we travel is not having enough space for all the shit we want to take with us.

This next item helps solve 50% of that issue once and for all.

Meet the ultimate travel dress by British travel clothing brand Kameleon Rose that can be worn in 20 different ways. Yes, I know. I was drooling too when I saw that. Say goodbye to overpacking. Now, you just need to pack this one items and some accessories and you have a different outfit for each day. You can dress it up or dress it down.

It converts into pants, a jumper, a dress, skirts, dressy shirts and casual shirts. It dries easily and it is wrinkle free. Sounds to good to be true? I thought so too until I used it on my recent travels. Now I am completely hooked.

I take it with me everywhere I travel to and it makes it so much easier to travel with just a carry-on. Kameleon Rose did not stop at the dress. They also have the ultimate travel pants, the two way top, the 3 way shorts, the four way shirt, the five way cardigan and the four way cap. Check out their website. I’m about to order my next item from them myself.

The Grip Tight Mount PRO by Joby

Another issue we solo travelers face is having no one to take a photo of us. I still vividly remember that scene in the National Lampoon’s European Vacation, when the family asked a stranger to take a family photo of them by a fountain, and the stranger proceeded to run away with the camera and sell the contents thereof. I am a very cautious traveler, especially with my gear. I am also quite anal when it comes to getting that great shot and often wish I would be behind the camera myself. So I started using the tripod for my camera more often. But what about when you want to use your camera phone instead of your bulky camera.

One such gadget that has become a permanent piece in my carry on and that compliments any tripod is the Grip Tight Mount Pro by Joby for mobile phones. It is small and easy to travel with and makes my life so much easier when it comes to taking that “instagrammable” shot of myself in one beautiful location or another.

DJI Osmo Mobile 2

This is for those of us travelers who like to document everything while on the road.

I started doing videos but was always annoyed by how shaky they are when filming while walking, riding, or moving in any way. That is, until my friend Sarah recommended the DJI Osmo Mobile. It’s a smartphone stabilizer and it is absolutely awesome.

I am still trying to get to know this beauty better but so far I am impressed with the quality of my videos and it is not to difficult to use either.

It is so hard to describe the relief I felt when I found the Space Saver Travel Bags.

The best part? You don’t need a vacuum. Just fill bag with your clothes, roll the air out and pack into your suitcase. Such a simple and easy way to save space in your luggage. One box contains about 10 compression packing organizer and storage bags.

That was it for a very short Christmas gift guide with absolute must-haves for that traveler in your life. I hope this list helps make your Christmas shopping days slightly better. Leave a comment below with items you would add to this list.

Happy Holidays.
